About me

TakerOne

muralist/street artist

@takeronegraffiti

I'm TakerOne from Budapest, Hungary. I started painting in 2001, beginning with traditional graffiti before gradually shifting my focus entirely to legal public art. Over the years, I refined my technique and learned how to create photorealistic murals on a monumental scale.

Photorealism remains the foundation of my work, complemented by the colourful abstract splashes that have become a signature element of my murals, often blurring the boundary between realism and imagination.

I love the public nature of mural art. Painting outdoors, interacting with passers-by, and seeing a finished mural become part of people's everyday lives is what motivates me most. Rather than creating works that simply decorate a wall, I aim to create murals that make people stop, look, and smile. I believe public art should enrich its surroundings, adding colour, character, and a positive impact to the places we share. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is the heart-warming feedback I continue to receive from people who encounter my murals, and it never fails to motivate me.

Every mural is designed specifically for its location, often drawing inspiration from local wildlife, culture, history, or the character of the surrounding environment. Most concepts begin with the wall itself, evolving through digital sketches before being brought to life with spray paint.

Over the years, my work has taken me to countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Israel, Australia, Finland, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Bulgaria and Ukraine. Working internationally has broadened my perspective, challenged me to continually raise my standards, and allowed me to meet inspiring artists and communities around the world. Wherever I paint, my goal remains the same: to create murals that people genuinely enjoy living with and that leave every place a little more colourful, memorable, and inspiring than it was before.
